Fraud Operations Analyst
Remote - US, Boston
PaymentWorks is hiring an Analyst for our Fraud Operations team. The Fraud Operations Analyst plays a key role in identifying, investigating, and preventing fraudulent activity in vendor onboarding and payments. In this role, you’ll review vendor registration details and evaluate payments flagged for risk to determine next steps. You’ll use investigative judgment and research to assess vendor legitimacy, identify emerging fraud trends, and help refine team processes.
This role requires excellent research skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high volume, fast paced environment.
You Will:
- Conduct in-depth fraud reviews to identify suspicious vendor registrations and assess potential risk indicators
- Review incoming payment batches flagged for risk; research, document, and determine appropriate next steps
- Review and document cases flagged for potential fraud risk, escalating findings for further investigation and process improvement
- Communicate with vendors and partners via phone to verify information and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain detailed, accurate notes to ensure full visibility and compliance with audit standards
- Consistently meet time-sensitive deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
You Have:
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Proven ability to research information, connect data points, and make sound risk-based decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with teams
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Accounts Payable, ACH payments, or vendor risk assessment is preferred
