The changes roll out in two phases:

  • Phase 1 (March 20, 2026): Applies to Originators and Third Parties processing more than 6 million transactions per year.
  • Phase 2 (June 19, 2026): Applies to all other ACH credit Originators, regardless of volume.

The key mandate:
Originators must verify the ownership of the recipient’s bank account using validated data sources before sending funds.
