Reconciliation and Onboarding Specialist

PaymentWorks is seeking a Reconciliation and Onboarding Specialist to join our growing Payment Operations team in a hybrid role that blends reconciliation responsibilities with Payment Solutions onboarding work. In this role, you will manage daily PaymentWorks EarlyPay reconciliation and collections while also coordinating the successful onboarding of customers to PaymentWorks’ payment processing capabilities. This includes facilitating secure payment file transmission with customer financial institutions and ensuring smooth payment file processing.

You will serve as a key liaison among customers, their banks, vendors participating in EarlyPay, internal teams, and our bank partners. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys a mix of daily operational ownership and project based coordination. This person is energized by both accuracy driven reconciliation work and relationship oriented onboarding responsibilities.

This is a collaborative and cross functional role that blends financial reconciliation, operational monitoring, and payment implementation. Key Responsibilities:

PaymentWorks EarlyPay Reconciliation and Operations

Perform daily PaymentWorks EarlyPay reconciliation across funding, repayments, and outstanding balances
Validate that all PaymentWorks EarlyPay transactions settle correctly and investigate any discrepancies
Conduct vendor outreach for outstanding balances and document communication activities
Identify and escalate operational issues, trends, or risks with clear supporting detail
Maintain accurate reconciliation logs, exception reports, and audit ready documentation
Support collections activities with professionalism and consistent follow through

Payment Solutions and Customer Onboarding

Coordinate implementation activities with customer banks, including test file transmission, validation, and certification
Collaborate with Project Managers to align onboarding timelines, deliverables, and responsibilities
Own the technical and operational relationship between PaymentWorks and each customer’s bank across multiple onboarding projects
Support payment modalities including ACH, PaymentWorks EarlyPay, and future payment types and formats, such as NACHA and ISO 20022
Build working knowledge of bank connectivity, including SFTP and encryption, to support implementation and troubleshoot issues
Support ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting for live payment customers as needed

About You:

Three to five years of experience in payments, financial services, fintech, reconciliation, or implementations
Experience working with external stakeholders such as customer IT teams, AP teams, banks, or third party vendors
Familiarity with ACH processing, NACHA and ISO 20022 file formats, and electronic payment workflows
Understanding of financial reconciliation processes and secure file transmission such as SFTP and encryption
Organized, detail oriented, and able to balance daily operational responsibilities with multiple concurrent projects
Strong written and verbal communicator who works independently and cross functionally
Comfortable using tools like Hubspot, JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Vitally, and Google Workspace
